How to read a chart

The basic method: reading planets, signs and houses together.

Stellog reads astrology from your birth chart. A birth chart has three parts—Planet (What), Sign (How), and House (Where)—and together they tell a unique story.

1. Three Components of a Birth Chart

  • Planet (What) - "What"

Planets stand for different areas of life. Like actors, each one plays a specific role.

  • Sign (How) - "How"

Signs mean how planetary energy is expressed. The same actor (planet) looks totally different in a different outfit (sign).

  • House (Where) - "Where"

Houses mean where in life planetary energy shows. The same actor (planet) in the same costume (sign) tells a different story on a different stage (house).

2. Principles of Combined Interpretation

Basic Formula Planet (What) + Sign (How) + House (Where)

Astrology reads by combining these three. Each piece matters alone, but together they give richer insight.

  • Example 1: Venus in Taurus in 2nd House

Venus → Love, aesthetic sense, values Taurus → Stable, sensual, material 2nd House → Wealth, possessions, resources

"Love and beauty (Venus) express in a steady, material way (Taurus) in wealth and belongings (2nd house). Stability and comfort matter in love, and owning beautiful things brings joy. Spending on art, food, scent—things that feed the senses—feels worthwhile."

  • Example 2: Mars in Gemini in 3rd House

Mars → Action, desires, energy Gemini → Diversity, communication, curiosity 3rd House → Communication, learning, short trips

"You express action and desires (Mars) in a diverse and communication-focused way (Gemini) in the realm of communication and learning (3rd House). You channel energy through words and writing, and have great curiosity about various topics. You gain vitality from debates or discussions, and can be active in online communication such as SNS or blogs."

  • Example 3: Moon in Scorpio in 8th House

Moon → Emotions, inner self, instincts Scorpio → Intensity, depth, transformation 8th House → Deep bonds, transformation, shared resources

"Feelings and inner life (Moon) express intensely and deeply (Scorpio) in bonds and transformation (8th house). Emotions run deep; surface ties matter less than real closeness. Mystery draws you in, and psychological change and renewal feel keen."
