Transits

Read the moments when today's planets meet your birth chart.

Transits read when current sky positions meet planets in your birth chart—helping you sense important timing and specific periods.

If your birth chart is a snapshot of the sky at the moment you were born, transits are today's planets passing over that snapshot. We look at when a current planet forms an aspect to a birth planet or enters one of your houses.

Each planet moves at its own pace

The Moon changes sign about every 2.5 days and reflects day-to-day moods. The Sun, Mercury, Venus and Mars show trends that last weeks to months. Jupiter and Saturn show larger trends over one to three years, and Uranus, Neptune and Pluto show long changes that unfold over many years.

Example

  • Example: When Jupiter forms a conjunction with your natal Sun

    Jupiter: Represents expansion, luck, growth

It's when the expansive planet (Jupiter) meets your birth Sun (self). New chances may arrive, confidence can rise, and life may feel like it's opening to the next level. A good time to start something new.

  • Example: When Saturn forms a square with your natal Venus

    Saturn: Represents limitation, responsibility, maturity

The limiting planet (Saturn) puts pressure on your birth Venus (love). You may face trials in relationships or look at love more seriously. It's hard, but relationships can mature and true value may become clear.

  • Example: When Mercury retrograde passes through your 3rd House

Mercury Retrograde: Time to be cautious with communication, contracts, electronic devices

The planet of talk (Mercury) goes retrograde through communication (3rd house). Misreadings are easier; contracts and big calls are better taken carefully. It can also be a stretch to revisit past people or projects.

Keep in mind

Transits don't predict fixed events. They show when certain themes are more likely to come up. The same transit can feel different for people with different birth charts.
